Summer Drama Camp

Youth Theater Workshop and Community Event
Organized and Directed by Melissa Mann
In Collaboration with Bradford Public Library


Old Church Theater, in collaboration with the Bradford Public Library is excited to offer a Summer Drama Camp this year for thespians from 12-18 years old. 

Classes on designing and building sets, script writing, costumes, make-up, finding your way around the stage, using stage voices, Becoming Your Character, and more will be presented. Camp will begin daily from Monday, June 26, 2023 to Friday, June 30, 2023, between the hours of 10am and 3pm. 

Interested members of the camp will also be encouraged to write ten minute one-acts before camp begins that members of the camp will prepare for a performance at Elizabeth Park on July 1st. (We hope to get 4-5 script writers!)

Our local boy scout troop has been invited to make hot dogs and hamburgers for sale, along with chips and drinks, for campers and audience members. Anyone who wants to attend the performance is invited!


East O’ The Sun, West O’ The Moon

The Isaksen family lives on a simple farm in Norway, where they work hard to feed their large family. One night they are visited by a White Bear, who tells them that he has been enchanted, and will remain a Bear until he finds the one who can break the enchantment. The Bear, Prince Eirik, feels certain that Emma is the one, and gets permission to take her to his castle. Just as the year is nearly up, Emma is convinced that she must find out if the bear is a prince or a troll. As a result of her curiosity, Prince Eirik is dragged off to Troll Castle, East O’ the Sun, West O’ the Moon, and Emma must find him before he is forced to marry a Troll Princess.

Scotland Road

A woman who is found floating on an iceberg in 19th century clothing. She is rescued and starts speaking about the Titanic. She is taken to Maine for an interrogation. A mysterious man named John seeks to debunk her story. Finally, the last living survivor from the Titanic is brought forth to test her. The end of the play Scotland Road reveals shared secrets

The Psychic

A down and out mystery writer, unable to pay his rent, hangs up a sign offering Psychic readings in his window. To his surprise, he blurts out to his first customer, an attractive young woman, that her husband is planning to kill her. Much to his alarm and confusion he soon finds himself embroiled in a string of bizarre and hilarious murders.
